Background

Only 50% of patients with moderate pain receive prehospital analgesics. Some patients opt out of pain treatment, but it is likely that the prehospital care provider in some cases choose not to administer analgesics for fear of side effects.

Purpose

With this study, we want to elucidate which children receive prehospital pain-alleviating treatment. We will investigate on what basis this treatment is given as well as investigate whether this treatment has any untoward effects.

Method

Register study based on prehospital and in-hospital medical records from the years 2017-2022.

Collaboration

The study is carried out in collaboration between pre-hospital researchers in Region Southern Denmark, Region Zealand, and Region North Jutland.
